Why
this is important:
When citizens become self-advocates it promotes independence, increases the number of businesses and agencies that are aware of citizens' needs, and reduces dependence on government.
What we're doing about this:
The agency is educating deaf and hard of hearing Iowans
about their rights and responsibilities under
state and federal law. In addition, the agency
provides consultation services to individuals
on their specific accessibility issues.
