Why
this is important:
This program provides access and choice to Iowa
families pursuing higher education. Students
who receive tuition grants are able to attend
private colleges and universities that best
serve their individual needs. Two separate appropriations
fund grants to students at not-for-profit and
for-profit institutions. The grants help
reduce reliance on student loans.

The College Student Aid Commission advocates
for assistance that provides access to higher education opportunities

loans are subject to additional fees and unfavorable
credit reports. They need personal attention
and support materials.

The Iowa College Student Aid Commission provides a
comprehensive referral and support program to
assist borrowers who are at risk of default.
Participants receive individualized counseling
and money management tools. The Iowa Outfitters
Program provides many tools to assist borrowers.
